Beatpace for AI Endurance

Your AI Endurance plan,as music.

Connect AI Endurance and Beatpace builds original running music around your adaptive plan: each session becomes a mix where every block holds its own exact cadence, so the music changes when the workout changes.

Adapted for a base cadence of 170 SPM. Your own cadence sets the numbers; your own workouts come across step for step.

Why Beatpace

The plan is done. The music never heard about it.

Beatpace builds original running music where the workout structure is inside the audio. Each session becomes one continuous mix: every block holds its own exact BPM, matched to your cadence, and the tempo shifts land on the block boundary. Not a playlist, not your streaming library rearranged. Music written to hold a tempo, because your legs follow the beat whether you ask them to or not.

Locked, not -ish.

Every block holds its exact BPM for its exact length. Your nervous system locks footstrike to a beat without asking you, so a track that drifts a few BPM by the chorus moves your cadence with it. Near the beat is worse than off it.

A steady beat that never drops out.

Built for entrainment, not for the dance floor: no build-and-drop arcs, no half-tempo bridges, no breakdown in the middle of a threshold block. When fatigue starts to degrade your form late in a session, the beat is still there to hold your turnover.

The music is the cue.

When the block changes, the beat changes: you hear the next rep start without looking at your wrist. Add transition beeps or a voice that counts you in, or nothing at all. Your choice, per run, and it never changes the mix underneath.

Adaptive plan, adaptive music

The plan writes itself. The music follows.

AI Endurance builds your plan from your own training and re-optimises it after each session, so you never sit down and design a workout.

Connect it to Beatpace and the same goes for the music: you never build a playlist either. Each planned session arrives as a mix with the structure the plan gave it, at the cadence each block asks for, and when the plan changes the mix changes with it.

What Beatpace reads

What comes across.

Your upcoming planned sessions from AI Endurance, ten days ahead. Beatpace keeps your next three planned sessions built, so there is a mix waiting the evening before; sessions already marked completed or skipped are ignored. The plan is read again every evening around 9 pm your local time, on every Garmin sync, and whenever you press Sync plan now. When the plan adapts, the queued mix is rebuilt in place; the old mix stays playable until the new one is ready.

From a step to a block.

4:00 4 minutes

The step's duration is the block's length, and the tempo change lands on the boundary. A plain hard/easy pair with a rep count becomes one repetition block; anything more elaborate is unrolled step by step.

VO2Max Push

The zone name on each step sets the energy band. Z2 and Endurance are Recovery, Tempo and Threshold are Work, VO2Max and Anaerobic are Push.

4:10/km · 250 W

AI Endurance exposes no FTP or zone table, so a bare pace or power cannot be turned into "how hard". The number is printed in the block text for you to read while you run; the zone name sets the band.

Warmup · Intervals · Cooldown

The step type is the block's structure, and when a step carries no zone name the type decides the band: warmup and cooldown are Recovery, intervals are Push.

Cadence

Follows the effort from your base SPM set in Settings: Push above it, Recovery below. On rides, an explicit cadence target on a step wins.

On a Garmin, those three queued sessions are part of your watch's sync set without saving anything. The watch downloads them when it is charging and on Wi-Fi, or sooner if you open Beatpace on the watch and press Sync.

Honest edges

What does not translate.

Strength days

AI Endurance's strength sessions show on the Beatpace calendar as planned days, with no mix and no queue slot. A gym session does not need a cadence.

Distance steps

A step written as a distance with a pace target is converted to time the obvious way: metres divided by the pace AI Endurance prescribes, so 5 km at 5:00/km is a 25-minute block. A distance step with only a power target has no speed to divide by and gets a default length by its type.

Swimming

Triathletes: the swim leg of your plan never builds a mix. Runs and rides do.

Run your way

Phone in your pocket. Or just your Garmin.

Beatpace runs in any browser: phone, tablet, computer. Open it, hit play, lock the screen, run. Got a Garmin with music? The Connect IQ app is live now, install it and leave the phone home.

  • Workout-aware playback: music shifts when your block shifts
  • Wrist-native on Garmin: full controls on the watch, no phone needed
  • Whole mix loads up front: once it's playing, dead zones and bad reception don't touch it
  • Your next planned sessions download while the watch is charging on Wi-Fi. Want one sooner? Open Beatpace on the watch and press Sync.

FAQ

What is Beatpace?+

Beatpace builds original running music with the workout structure inside the audio: each planned session becomes one continuous mix where every block holds its own exact BPM, matched to your cadence. It plays in any browser or natively on a music-capable Garmin, with no phone.

Do I need a paid AI Endurance account?+

Any active AI Endurance account works. Beatpace connects to it and reads the sessions it has planned for you.

Does Beatpace write anything back to AI Endurance?+

No. Beatpace reads your upcoming planned sessions and nothing else. It never creates a workout, marks one complete or touches your zones. Your plan keeps adapting in AI Endurance exactly as it did before.

My plan adapted overnight. Which version do I run?+

The new one. When a queued session changes, its mix is marked outdated and a replacement is built in place. The old mix stays playable until the new one is ready, and today's and tomorrow's sessions are rebuilt right away.

Do I need to carry my phone?+

Not on a supported Garmin: the mix runs natively on the watch with Bluetooth headphones. Without a watch, every mix plays in any modern phone browser with the screen locked.

Does this change my training plan?+

No. Beatpace only reads your planned sessions. Nothing is written back, and your platform stays the source of truth.

What if I have no plan today?+

Forever Radio: set one tempo, pick a Sound, press play, and the music keeps coming as long as you do. Free accounts get 20 minutes a day, Pro is unlimited.

Which platforms are supported?+

intervals.icu, AI Endurance, TrainerDay, Tredict. Want yours next? Tell us.

What happens if I disconnect?+

Beatpace deletes the stored access tokens and your athlete id for that platform, stops reading the plan, and clears the sessions it queued from it. Mixes you pinned or saved yourself stay. You can also revoke Beatpace from inside the platform.

David, Beatpace founder

From the founder

I'm a long-distance runner. I built Beatpace because I couldn't find music that matched my workouts, not just my mood. Cycling instructors picked it up first, since they live and die by BPM. Now it's looping back to the audience I built it for.
